CLASS NEWS
Some people say Australian History is
dull; but our studies have found quite the opposite. Clashes of
civilization, starvation, and the struggle for survival by all the
peoples concerned since Australia’s settlement are worthy of any TV
blockbuster. Aborigines first settled here when Australia was a pleasant
temperate land, heavily forested, with inland lakes and swamps. Plenty
of game and native food meant they could live an idyllic life with no
masters and no slavery: Although they did have violent clashes between
their tribes.
We began with Gondwanaland and have
slowly advanced, to our British colonists bitter disputes with their
Governors. Unfortunately our class leader Elaine had to retire due to
ill health, but we are continuing in 2012 with the saga of our
beginnings. Everyone has something they would like to contribute and
this is very welcome. Join us in our new building to explore, discuss,
digress and discourse on our versions of Australian History.
