Latest Class News

Olivia and I look forward to welcoming past and new writers to the U3A Creative Writing class in 2012. Our group meets every two weeks, 12pm to 2pm, commencing Thursday March 1st, (check the prospectus for confirmation of these times). Be aware of our new location behind TAFE on the eastern side of Morwell.

Many people have the desire to write, be it their memoirs, anecdotes of life experiences, various forms of poetry or fiction in various forms. However a barrier to achieving these aims is a complaint known as writer’s block. This barrier can be overcome by class participation where the vibes and friendly support of fellow writers removes the dreaded block.

Olivia won first prize in the seniors section of the Waterline Writing Competition at Corinella, with her story The Lost Teeth. Congratulations Olivia, and to other members who may have been successful with their writings without my knowledge.

Ann Beschle has done a wonderful job publishing an anthology of the member’s writings entitled Vignettes and Verse. If anybody is interested in obtaining a copy, contact Ann or Olivia.
