The game of Mah Jong

The game of Mahjong was invented by the Chinese hundreds of years ago. When this game was introduced to the West a more complicated and interesting version was devised drawing on the tradition legend and variation. The result is a fascinating and most enjoyable game which involves and tactile experience plus a degree of skill.

At first sight the game may appear complicated but the skills can be readily learned under the guidance of Kath Lynch, the leader of our group, plus you can be assured of encouragement and support by all. We are a very friendly and happy group who enjoy our weekly meetings and warmly welcome any U3A members who would be interested in joining us

CLASS NEWS

We had a happy year in 2011 at the Mah Jong tables. We welcomed several cheerful new faces to our group.  Mah Jong is a fun game. It involves a bit of concentration, a little patience & to stay alert, helps a lot. We build the walls of China to keep out the Dragons & the East Winds at bay.. We break for coffee and a chat, then back to the challenge of the GAME...look forward to seeing you all this year.
